ABOUT US

Our Story

I chose to be a flower man because it brings my two loves together,

the land and people.

Growing up in the Blue Mountains, from an early age I discovered the bounty of nature, the bush was my wonderland. After a day in the bush I would go home with a wildflower bouquet for my Mum, she loved plants and in particular fragrant flowers. Mum showed me the joy that nature can bring.

It also happened to be my mother who introduced me to my true love… Rosetta, who just happened to be the daughter of a Rose Grower.

My journey as a flower man began by selling flowers from the back of a truck on the side of the road. With time I was then able to establish my presence in key farmers markets around Sydney.

Several years ago I started my own flower farm in Freemans Reach in NSW and got to experience directly the amazing feeling that growing your own flowers give.

My main purpose is to share a wonderful and affordable variety of flowers of superior quality to fill customers lives with beauty.

Farm Practices

We practice Integrated Pest Management

We practice Integrated Pest Management (IPM) on our farm. IPM is acknowledged internationally as best practice for crop, nursery and amenity pest and disease control. The primary aim of an IPM program is the reduction of the use of pesticides. The principles of IPM are that all options for pest and disease management should be considered including varietal selection, biological control, cultural and physical management, and that chemical intervention is only used as a last resort. Where the use of pesticides is necessary within an IPM program they should be chosen for their selectivity rather than broad-spectrum effects. The chemical should also present the least possible hazard to the spray operator, the general public, non-target plants or animals and the environment as a whole. The key to successfully adopting IPM principals and putting them into practice is careful monitoring and record keeping of both the pests and beneficials within the system.
